Data protection information

We, the Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), Institute of Structural Analysis, Dresden University of Technology, 01062 Dresden, Germany, as the responsible party within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) hereby explain in the following data protection information which personal data we process when you visit our website and use our online services. We would like to point out that by default, all data transmissions in connection with our website are made via an encrypted connection.

We reserve the right to occasionally adapt our data protection information to ensure that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes in our services. We therefore recommend that you read the data protection information regularly in order to keep up to date with the protection of personal data that we process.

Logging and creation of log files

When you access our website, we log a number of technical data. This general data and information is stored in the server’s log files. Your IP address and the date and time of the access to our website are recorded in a log file. The processing of personal data is carried out in order to run the website as well as for troubleshooting and clarification of abuse or fraud on the basis of a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR. The log files are erased after fourteen days.

Use of cookies

We use cookies on our website. Through a cookie, the information and content on our website can be optimized for the benefit of the user. Cookies enable us to recognize the users of our website. The purpose of this recognition is to make it easier for users to navigate our website.

Our website uses the functional cookie pll_language to facilitate the recognition of languages (GER–ENG). The cookie is stored for a period of one year.

You have the option to deactivate it. However, this could result in language recognition not working correctly when visitors navigate the website.

Customer login

To use the login area, members are assigned user accounts from the responsible entity. To create these user accounts, the respective email addresses of the authorized users are processed. The authorized users themselves assign a password. Moreover, additional personal data, in particular personal master data and contact data, may be provided when accessing the account. In this case, the personal data is processed on the basis of the user relationship and the existing contractual relationships pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR. The personal data will be erased after termination of the user relationship and the associated erasure of the user account, insofar as no legal retention periods prevent erasure.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites, so-called external links. We have no influence on whether the operators of other websites comply with data protection regulations. Please note that if you click on a link to another website, you will be subject to different data protection regulations. We have no influence on the data processing there. External links are marked as such in accordance with § 19 para. 3 TTDSG (German Telecommunications Telemedia Data Protection Act).

Section: Use of service providers for the provision of the website

In order to run the website, we use service providers who process personal data on behalf of the controller or through whom access to personal data cannot be excluded. We have concluded contracts for commissioned processing with all of these service providers in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The services are provided by IBH IT-Service GmbH (hosting) and Margarita Kourtparasidou, boomCodes (technical support).

Data subject rights and contact to the data protection officer

Data subjects may at any time request information about the personal data concerning them and, if necessary, demand rectification or erasure or restriction of processing, or object to processing. In addition, there is a right to data portability in their favor. Furthermore, if data processing is carried out on the basis of consent, this consent may be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority if you are concerned that your personal data is being processed unlawfully.
